is there any chance ramble will finish with the orcs , soon? as I was hoping to do my turn at least while we have the weekend? [as your faction has had the turn for 9 days, I think? ]

Arfanel had come along way from his basic spying craft abilities from when he acted at the City of Dawnbreak , against a massive army of Daedra that had occupied that settlement. To enter Velyn Harbour was indeed very easy, as he had fabricated orcish travel permits which he had looted from a dead orc messenger courier which he enabled him to enter the settlement without to many queries. Once inside the settlement , he disappeared amongst the local inhabitants and sowed discontent against the Orcish garrison there.

He was fortunate indeed, that the orcish garrison commander was no other than there prince Ulmag, who only had a powerful bodyguard of around seventy orcish heavy troopers at his disposal ,who had to both man the wall , the gates and police the city . With such little forces , it was a easy matter, to sneak some sleeping powders into the guards who man'd[or should i say orc'd the gates Razz] the gate. Two hours later , he checked back, to find that the orcs were littered around , in various sleeping positions as they had succumbed to the soporific effect of the drugs they had digested. Arfanel stood to the door , finding this mission much easier than dodging the daedra at Dawnbreak and just lifted the bar off the gate, to allow the army of Sincantar to enter the city.



Sincantar had lead the newly made northern army, since its first recruitment around Cloudrest, and the road to Velyn harbour had been long indeed , but with the recent victory over the forest orcs in valenwood, had lead the orcs to a weakened state in the south. Many had told him that orcish ships had been seen on the horizon, and he feared that the orcs wished to escape the forest to march and join with there brethren in the north , but this was not a thing he would permit. He gave orders that the sleeping orc guards be killed without mercy and the mighty army began to flood inside the city moving towards the town square of the recaptured city.

In the square stood the last stand of the orcish bodyguard dressed in there full armour , all generally wielding weapons in each hand , to give maximum killing strenght. In the centre of the square stood a orc who towered above the others in height and girth, who was strangely marked with blood red marks over his armour. The army began to surround both square and the orcish troops, to make sure there was nowhere for them to run. As the aldmeri swelled inside the city , what native altmeri population there was ,came out of there houses to follow behind the troops to finally see the orcs get there just deserts, yelling and screaming there support to there native forces.

Once the square was finally surrounded, Sincantar, his glass armour gleaming in the light, moved to the front of his troops calling out to the orcish leader.

"Ulmag!, Call your orcs to stand down , and i will give them a easy death!" , cried out Sincantar, who's sister had fallen in the previous battle of Velyn harbour, and was not in the mood to take prisoners.

"Bhah! , Nuff time speaking, pointed ears ! Claim your weapons and lets get it done! Less time speaking..more time fighting!" , replied the ever courageous orc leader, and his retinue gave jeers and cries of bravado, in response to their leaders words.



Sincantar drew a slim elegant but well made longsword and with his other hand , signalled his troops to move in. The massive dominion army pushed against itself in the tight quarters of the square as they reached the orcish bodyguard , and soon the sounds of ringing weapons echo'd with blows being exchanged. A small gap in the orcish line opened up and Sincantar moved quickly forward, only to find his path blocked by the orcish prince.

The orcish leader moved quickly with a axe in both hands , his attacks were swift and sure. Sincantar had to rely on his sheer speed to rapidly block all the orc's heavy strikes.The combat between the two began ever rhythmic as the orc swung one axe and then the other , only to find both strikes blocked by Sincantar's quick moving blade, angled as not to take the whole impact lest it break to the heavier weapons of the orc. Time seem to shrink as the two combatants fought for several minutes , the altmeri purely defensive , trying to get a feel for the orcish prince's style of combat. Suddenly they jumped apart , and his realisation , that the other combats had finished. The rest of the orcish bodyguard , had been cutdown , and the surrounds of the square was filled with dominion troops who cheered there commander on. Behind them , lay the peoples of the city , who likewise looked on , realising there freedom was near at hand.

Sincantar looked at the orcish leader , seeing little fear in him or the loss of will to fight, indeed the orcish prince's gaze was entirely focused upon him , as he again closed the distance between them , raising one of his axes high above his head. Sincantar raised his lighting quickblade to deflect the blow , when the orc leader swung the other axe , and the elven lords , blocking sword , was to slow , the axe slicing through armour    piercing his abdomen, leaving a bleeding wound of some size. Sincantar backed away a little , but the orcish warrior was not to be denied , sensing blood , he pushed forward. Realising that for all his defensive work , there was no clear path to striking a blow against the orcish prince and with his strength fading fast , he blocked another blow , and then lunged forward, accepting the fact the other axe blow would land, but he could perhaps strike a fatal blow of his own. The other orcish handaxe smashed downwards , glancing off his altmeri helm , and struck his shoulder, carving a great grash in his armour, felling the elfish general.

Ulmag , the orcish prince of the woodland orcs, yelled out his satisfaction at felling his opponent , much to the jeers of the watching dominion troops and altmeri civilians. When he staggered as one of his legs lost strength , falling to one knee , and looked down at the altmeri longsword which struck in his breastplate , with only the handle remaining at the front ,the rest protruding from his back..

"Malacath!!!!, I conquer" , cried Ulmag , before falling forward ,and taking his last breath.

The rest of the troops moved forward to check there leader , only to find him severely wounded, unconscious and perhaps dreaming of fulfilling the revenge of his younger sister , who had died a few years before.



The population of the Velyn were ever grateful , that there city had been relieved of the orcs threat, and held a celebratory feast for there saviours . The spirits of the altmeri was much improved however , as the first ships from the merish homeland, began to enter the harbour , much to the jubilation of the population and particularly the tradesmen.

Abah at-tura had been sentout to contact the orcish king, who's forces had retreated from the field of Abmath to a fortress east of Velyn harbour , which was located deep with the valenwood. He cursed at his luck for this mission, as he slowly moved his horse through the densely forested  areas of the wood , where little light shone through the dense foliage. Several hour's had passed and he had made little progress , as the undergrowth had made the travel tough going.

Suddenly a net had fallen from above , [from the branches of the trees which span'd above him] which had been weighed down with rocks , trapping both him and horse in its confines. Panicking he tried to escape the heavy netting and fell off his horse to the ground. The horse appeared to be unmoved by such a event and just stood still , as the ever increasing struggles of the diplomat , tangled himself .A few moments later , he felt the cold blade at his throat .

"I am afraid , your part in this war is over. It is time for you to tell me , all you know......and perhaps then I might let you live" , replied the quiet voice of a thin altmeri who was dressed in a drab grey robe , and face mask which prevented his face from being seen.

King Aeradan , stood at the newly recaptured town of Abamath, all his generals had conferred about the current military situation . Scouts had reported that the hammerfell armies had fallen back from the city of Vulkswasten, to there flotilla of ships, which anchored in the Strid River , just south of Anvil , controlling the end of the estuary. Current report's of two mighty hammerfell armies stood within the bows of there ships , reading to counterattack any action that the Bosmer might achieve on the western coastline. But this was the time for the  deeds and tales[allegory] of the mighty, bosmer forces which now held ascendancy on this front of the war .



The king coughed once and took another glass of Rotmeth, a brew which was made from fermented meat seasoned with thunderbug organs, which took  years to brew, and is considered a precious ritual beverage that symbolizes "the muscle of the boar, the power of the forest, the strength of the Bosmer people". The council of generals had also to take into account the battle's which also raged around Skingrad , to coordinate there overall strategy.,as the dominion armies also assembled there. After a day or two , the king and the council had come to what they considered a adequate plan of action , but there was still the matter of Vulkwasten , and the last of the forest orcs with there king and his clan chiefs. So here the king drank another slip of his rotmeth, as the generals beat out the rough shape of the actions they wished to inflict upon the forest orcs.

The orcs had been forced back to one of there old fortress's to west of there current position , which was still  within the valenwood operational area, they would be short of food and equipment , confined for a while in there need to  forage for supplies and to regroup there for whatever the Orc king decided to do.

Firstly it was decided that a force was ordered northwest to take Vulkwasten which was lightly garrisoned by a minor archer miltia band,which would provide little defence to the superior forces at the command of the Bosmer king. This force would be given adequate equipment and personnel to manage this action, but the main event would be the elimination of the Orc King and his forest orcs which would take priority , to give them no time to regroup or perhaps even to flee across the sea.

A Larger force was assembled equipped with ballista and sent out westwards into the depths of the Valenwood, satisfied , that all was going as planned, the king and his advisors began to set out the messengers that would be sent out to the northern forces to advise actions in there struggles against the daggerfall covenant.

The force reached the orcish fort after a week of travel , in the early hours of the morning , and in the slight light of the days light began to systemically destroy the forts defences. Wall after wall began to splinter and fall , gates were rendered , and the orc defenders were hurled from the walls from the heavy ballista shot as it penetrated, straight through even the hardy black orcish armour with little difficulty. The bombardment continued for a good two hours , which gave time for the large bosmer armies to deploy , whilst the orcs took cover the best they could .
Soon the ammunition of the ballista began to run low , and the shots came more sporadically . When the ammuniation had run out , bosmer archers took there positions and massive arrow storms were thrown against the now weakened defences. Faced by more than half of his force being shot by either ballista bolt or bosmer arrow , the orc king decided he would not die like a old badger caught in a trap, and convinced what clan chiefs there were , that perhaps there was one more charge for glories sake. The others agreed and between arrow storms the orcs prepared themselves the best they could, reading to sally. A old orc took up a large drum , at the back of the fort , and when the King Burz gave the signal , he began to beat the drum , slowly at first. The orcs spoke between themselves , psyching themselves up , for the charge, whilst waiting for the next arrow storm to land, before the charge was given.

Plunk! , Skiiiit!! , went the sound of  multiple arrows landing and sticking in nearby barrels and tables, some arrows hitting other furnishings , others glancing off, and sliding away into the dirt.

"Ha! I love a challenge!"  , cried Burz , as the orcs as one, charged out of the many breach points which had been destroyed in the eastern wall of the fortress, as they ran towards the bosmer army lines . Two hundred steps to go now , Burz measured out the distance , as they closed the distance,........... one hundred fifty steps to go, as he looked up as he ran, as he saw the bosmer troops raising there bows to the sky.

Floom!! , Floom!! , Floom!! , went the sound as the release of hundreds of bows backstrings loosed there arrows of death , and scores of orcs fell, one orc was turned in a pin cushion with hundreds of arrows stuck in his armour , and he made a few more steps , fighting against his wounds with shear force of will  before collapsing to the ground. Many of the orcs brushed off minor wounds and continued to close the distance, as the bosmer archers, withdrew behind the line of there valenwood swordsmen , who drew there large blades and took a coordinated defence line.

Orcs smashed into the bosmer line , which absorbed the blow's, inflicted on them. Some orcs jumped as the line , engaged , hoped to land a critical blow , but many of the bosmer swordsmen were veterans of many campaign's and most dodged or avoided these blows. The orc's switched from the heavier weapons which they had used to the charge , to lighter weapons in each hand , to achieve maximum damage and using the beat of the drum , still back at the keep , they synchronised there attacks , to keep the forces in front of them busy .

After ten minutes ,the remaining orc line began to slow in there attacks, as fatigue began to effect them, they still fought well against the tough valenwood swordsmen , but there charged had been  contained , and the greater numbers of valenwood troops began to flank in from either wing , there armies being, many , many times greater in numbers than the valiant orcs , until the orc force was completely surrounded. As the many combats continued the orc's were soon forced into a square formation , pressured on all sides , , and the end , was not in question. For every bosmer , the orcs floored , was replaced , but for every orc , killed , there was no replacement , and the square shrunk slowly in every direction , getting smaller and smaller as time went by.

The bosmer leader , although admiring of the brave forest orcs , had no more time to spend , on their last remnants , as he had to prepare for further instructions and orders which had been laid upon him , by the bosmer leadership, and so he turned himself away , back to his command tent, as the line of the forest orcs, finally died out in the valenwood, for what he hoped was for the last time.

[Narsil informed me , that he eliminated the orc-king & forces and took back his city with Overwhelming odds]

Forinor observed the hammerfell priests as they gathered around the Brindle fortress , as the orc & wayresterian forces departed to the north , in the movement to avoid the gathering armies of the dominion as they assembled around Skingrad and awaited new orders. The priest didn't see the dagger that took him in the back, and he was later found, on the floor of his room , at the inn , he had been staying at , no more would he preach the word of the hammerfell gods in Tamriel

Fort Brindle stood in the days sun , a important position which controlled some of the more important roads , which lead to the imperial city. The fortress had changed hands many times , more recently it had been garrisoned by the Orcs, but they had lead the retreat of the daggerfall covenant forces northward, whilst a garrison of hammerfall troops had been left behind to leave a skeleton garrison [not literally :d , must be careful with these sort of words with fantasy settings Very Happy].

Aroz'lai , erstwhile known as the "The Shadow of Riverhold" climbed the forts walls , during the daylight hours , he knew the guard patrolling the walls had just walked past during his route , and knew he had a good twenty minutes before he would passing this place again. His right hand searched higher up on the wall , searching for another handhold ,grasping a narrow toe hold he , adjusted his weight and pulled himself up to this next position, then searching for a place for his foot to settle , as he slowly but carefully climbed the wall. A group of ten or so young khajiit kept in the shadow of the wall below , looking up , at the legendary thief , as he climbed ever higher to finally reach the parapet of the wall , before he finally climbed onto the wall's walkway. Aroz'lai slowly felt the reliable surface of the solid wall below him , crouched and looked across to find there was no activity or alarm that he had been spotted. He glanced across at the far stone wall to see the guard was still on his usual patrol , and without wasting time , he unslung the rope , he had carried on his right shoulders and tied it around one of the crenulations before throwing the rest to the ground.



Catquick , the next khajiit rapidly climbed the rope and Aroz'lai provided a helping hand to bring him on the wall , and left the advancement of the rest of the troop to the newcomer , whilst he sneaked across , to the tower entrance and the end of the wall, lifting the trapdoor , in the center of the tower , checking that all was quiet below  before dropping down to the floor below without making a sound.

The room was a guard chamber with many weapons fixed to wall and nothing else of interest, but the next room was of importance to him , as it contained two guards who chatted in idle conversation , close to the gatehouse winch which operated the portcullis to the main entrance. Entering the room , he softly closed the door behind him , darting quickly behind some of the gatehouse machinery, whilst he observed the two redguards who talked, away obvious that death stalked them this day.

The khajitt moved a little way around to give him a better vantage overlooking the guards positions and listened carefully , making sure he didn't hear any more activity from the other corridor which was the other exit to the room , to avoid any more unwanted conflicts. When he was satisfied , that it was just him and the two guards, he silently unfastened two of the throwing stars he had hidden about his person.



The guard was talking about the General who they served who was called Merric at-Renazh , who currently held the fort with just his own bodyguard, the two guards sat at a small wooden tables drinking from crude wooden mugs , some alcoholic beverage from there native lands. Aroz'lai sensitive nose wrinkled at the weird smell , the alcohol gave off , but his eyes brightened when he saw there weapons , two scimitars where still sheathed in there scabbards, as it would be awkward for them to be drawn whilst they were sitting down.

Finally one of the guards, stood up and proclaimed he had to take a leak , and this was Aroz'lai's opportunity and after the guard had gone , he flung one of his throwing stars , catching the guard in the neck , with a well placed shot. The guard choked on the blood in his throat , and died without issuing a scream. Aroz'lai quickly moved to the guard, placing him back into a slumped sitting position with his head, placed downwards on the table , to hide the wounds and awaiting the other guard to return.

He did not have long to wait , when the relieved guard returned and seeing the other guard slumped down on the table , moved to shake him awake , before Aroz'lai's  hand clasped itself over his mouth , whilst in the other ,his knife sliced quickly horizontally cutting  his throat. Aroz'lai lowered the guard to the ground, and returned to the troop of khajiit which had climbed the wall , and dropped down into the first room within the tower. coordinating with them , he arranged a couple to man the portcullis operatus , whilst he and the rest moved down to secure the gate, when it opened , as more and more khajitt from the approaching cat army group appeared on the horizon . It would not be long before the khajiit would finally arrive and the Fortress would be secure, leaving the rest of the troop to secure the gatehouse , he stalked the last remaining guards on the walls, to keep the surprise total for the garrison , against the approaching army.

The Sevent Legion, Part II

The Seventh legion invades Bangkorai!

After the van of the legion consisting mostly of reachmen clans sacked Evermor, the main part of the invading forces, the Seventh Legion itself, has attacked Bagkorai Garrison and Hallin's Stand! The operation is lead by Septima Tharn, the cousin of Empress Regent Clivia Tharn and general-magus of the seventh legion. Knights of Saint Pelin and armies of House Guimard are on the edge of defeat...


Effects

At least one of the assaulted settlements (Hallin's Stand and Bangkorai Garison) must be retaken in 4 turns. If The Covenant manages that, it shall receive a point.

General Septima Tharn (personally killed by High King Emeric) and her main officer Sadas Secundus must be killed in 6 turns. If the Covenant manages that, they shall receive a point.

I remind that in all these requirements a member of House Guimard, or knight commander of Knights of Saint Pelin, must be personally and actively present to, to fulfill the tasks! They can be moved closer by me, but with no units

Furthermore, High King Emeric Cumberland can be moved closer, to the war zone, and he can take 6 units with him.









II. Ebonheart Pact















An Act of War

Points Aquired: 1of 2 (not letting the invaders take more than 3 settlements

Telvanni slave raid led by a telvanni archmagister was succesfully repelled, and the invaders killed....
The Dunmers fighting side by side with their argonian brothers against dunmer slavers have streghtened the Pact, and changed opinions of some argonian tribes, that have been opposing  joining the Pact till now.....


Reward:

5000 per each point (for Blackmarsh)

One of the remaining argonian rebel settlements  by your choice ( Rockpark or Blackrose)  shall join The Pact (by spawned siege eq and units that will then get disbanded) on this Pact turn.

Ancillaries Pact General or Hidden armigers can be given to any argonian general by your choice (only one of them, as you earned only 1 point). Such general musnt already have any other governor/special ancillary, so preferrably new adopted generals (message me about it)




A deadly Llodos plague has broken out in Deshaan. Thr rumours say it is being spread by the Maulborn cult, that wants deadric worship to return to Morrowind, and replace The Tribual....






III. Dominion

The Jade Dragoons, led by General Endare "The Butcher, attempting to seize important artifacts important for the upcomming ceremony in Elden Root have been dealt with.

Ceremony in Elden Root

  Prince Naemon, brother of past queen Ayrenn,  with his supporters, has attempted to usurp power in The Dominion by secretly undertaking the ceremony in Elden Root, that woud ratify him as rules of The Dominion, using the artifacts taken from Jade Dragoons. However, the power of the Orrery overcame him, and died in the result.... (pal is gonna expand a lot on this  Laughing )


Traitors Within

Eyes of the Queen reports that after the events in Elden Root Veiled Heritance is preparing something and hired a large group of maormer pirates....
